Scouting Stay n' Go: The Best Way to End a Day
After a long day of pretending to enjoy "rock bacon," we headed back to our temporary headquarters: Stay n' Go RV Park. This place is just off I-10, and let me tell you, the "smell-scape" here is top-tier. There are so many new paws passing through every day that Patches and I had to spend a good hour just updating our scent-database. We walked every inch of that campground, checking in on the other travelers and making sure the perimeter was secure. But the best part? The finish line. Once we got back inside the motorhome, the humans turned on the fireplace. Patches didn't even make it to her bed—she just melted into a puddle of Red Heeler fur right in front of the flames. I joined her shortly after. Spelunking is hard work, but someone has to do it.
Human Notes:
Shadow and Patches loved the smells, but here is what the humans loved about this stop. If you are traveling through the Florida Panhandle with dogs and a big rig, this is a spot you’ll want to bookmark.
The Location: The park is perfectly situated for travelers. It is located in Marianna, Florida, just off I-10 (Exit 142). It’s far enough from the highway to stay quiet, but close enough that you aren't winding through tight city streets in a motorhome.
Why we liked it:
- Easy Access: They offer spacious pull-through sites, which was a lifesaver for us. We didn't even have to unhook the toad for our overnight stay.
- Pet Friendly: The "perimeter walk" Shadow mentioned is great. There is plenty of green space for the dogs to stretch their legs after a long day in the Florida Caverns State Park.
- Connectivity: We were able to get some work done without the Wi-Fi dropping—a rarity in some of the more rural parks!
How to find them:
- Address: 2392 Highway 71 S, Marianna, FL 32448
- Phone: (850) 482-1114
- Website:stayngorv.com
Pro-Tip: If you’re arriving after dark like we sometimes do, the park is well-lit and the signage is clear. Just look for the big "Stay n' Go" sign right off Hwy 71!
