If you’ve noticed the snazzy new logo at the top of our site, you might be asking: "Hey, that looks a lot like Patches in the window... where is Shadow?"

As the Chief of Security, I take my public-facing duties very seriously. Someone has to be the face of the "Doghouse on Wheels," and I happen to have the perfect "ears-up, tongue-out" silhouette for SVG scaling.

When the humans were designing the site, I looked for Shadow to join the brainstorming session, but she was... occupied.

• The Bug Situation: Shadow spent roughly four hours yesterday staring at the windshield, mesmerized by the bugs as we cruised toward Alabama. She says it’s "interactive cinema," I say it’s a distraction.
• The Fireplace Nap: When she isn't on "Bug Watch," she is usually curled into a perfect circle in front of our electric fireplace, refusing to move even for a high-res photo op.

Shadow’s Response (Transcribed via Paw-to-Text): "Patches is just an attention hog. Typical Red Heeler. She loves the spotlight, whereas I prefer a more 'behind-the-curtain' approach to management. Also, that dog in the logo is clearly wearing a blue collar. I wouldn't be caught dead in blue this season. I'm staying in the warm spot by the fire until we hit the next state. Wake me for treats."
